May 15th general meeting (Ft. Sam, guest speaker)

Tony, from Fort Sam is assigned to the San Antonio Police Department working to improve living conditions around the Post – targeting crime.

David Denton is MPNA rep on the Community Advisory Board

BRAC will bring in an excess of 10,000 people – 1240 that will live off post

 

Ft. Sam will infuse approx. $8 billion to the surrounding communities and San Antonio
Good neighbor initiative to be performed by Post personnel– during the month of June, in the Walters St. area, Zone 2, 100 houses of elderly people will be cleaned, landscaped & painted

Project POP – Problem Oriented Policing – supported by the City Manager, Police and Constables, targeting houses where drugs and prostitution are suspected.  If you observe questionable activity first notify our Safe Officer – Betty Cardona

Other activities to combat crime – Cellular on Patrol, VIP which is a clerical support to rooftop surveillance, and Neighborhood Watch

Code Compliance is working in Zone 2 now and will expand as time goes on

Will the N. New Braunfels gate reopen – Ft Sam will never be an open post again
What about stray cats & dogs – call 311 or look up phone number of Supervisor for animal care
Will N. New Braunfels be repaved – this is not within the authority area of the BRAC group – call your council member
Concerns expressed regarding traffic through MP – Tony will report our concerns to the commander but the army can’t do anything directly – this is a SA Police Dept issue
