The Midtown Brackenridge area consists of the commercial areas along Broadway from I35 North to Burr Road, North St Marys from I-35 North to Mulberry Avenue, and nearly all of the area between Broadway, North St. Marys, I-35, and Hwy 281.

This Master Plan will incorporate all Master Plans and NCDs for Mahncke Park, Tobin Hill, Monte Vista, River Road, Government Hill, and Westfort Alliance.

The Vision Statement for Midtown Brackenridge:

A master plan should guide the attainment of a shared vision for Midtown Brackenridge to create a:

  • Mixed use, mixed income neighborhood of urban character, scale, and density
  • Walk-able, bike-able, and transit-oriented community
  • Lively district of economic, cultural, educational, residential, and entertainment activity
  • Mix of new construction, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse that exemplifies quality architecture and        sustainable and green building practices
  • Model for low impact district that protects the watershed and celebrates green spaces.

There will be planning meetings in advance of open public meetings with representatives from each neighborhood. The representatives from Mahncke Park are:

Residential – David Matiella, resident on Thorman Place

Commercial – Ashley Weaver,Owner, Kiddie Park
