* The MPNA Board will submit an application to the city requesting an official review of our NCD in order to strengthen our design standards in the neighborhood - we'll need your support of this review! Should our application be accepted by the city we will form a Neighborhood Planning Committee open to anyone interested in helping to revise our standards. Please be sure to sign the petition at the general meeting in support of the NCD review. *
A representative from COSA Office of Historic Preservation will give an overview of the process for obtaining a historic designation for our neighborhood and/or streets. The Board has not taken a position on Historic designation but would like to bring the information around the designation process to neighbors in the event that there is an interest in pursuing that designation during the NCD review process.
City Public Service (CPS) will also be at this meeting to give practical recommendations for increasing your homes efficiency and to present rebates they're offering as an incentive to do so. Their speaker, too, will be open to answering any of your questions about efficiency and the challenges you might be faced with as the owner of an older home.
Be aware that CPS also offers a weatherization assistance program designed to assist low-income homeowners and renters by installing upgrades that increase the energy efficiency of their houses and reduce utility bills. The program, called Casa Verde SA, is a partnership between the City of San Antonio and CPS Energy.
